Of everything I have ever been, and of all that I have ever done through my First 50 ©, writing has remained a constant.
I remember where I was when this passion first took flight. It was at a long-gone middle school in my hometown of Hamilton. I have even written a story about it.
I have been writing for almost thirty years through a hiatus or two and have much to show for my efforts. Well, some of it has been lost and much remains in notebooks and miscellaneous folders on a drive, but there is quite a bit out there both thrown together and edited through quiet nights, for everyone to browse.
In my spare time, I am a community event organizer, volunteer, coach to our three girls, blogger, harmonica blower, and dreamer.
My greatest professional accomplishment thus far was being an elected Trustee for the local school board where I found much of my creative inspirations as a youth.
From paper boy at twelve to computer-aided designer. McDonald’s counter staff at fifteen to the inventor of Animation Stencils © at twenty-four. There isn’t much I haven’t tried but it always comes full circle, to not enough time in the day to write the thoughts that come to mind.
Besides having run a number of personal blogs over the years going back to the Geocities days, I have also been published in local newspapers from The Hamilton Spectator to various community newspapers. I have also self-published a few chapbooks, and have been published on other blogs including Raise the Hammer. My current blogging project is What the Fvck – Tomorrow isn’t Promised.
What will my reflection see looking back on my Final 50 ©?
